A Good Addiction

ByApril D. Byrd

Life is a Trip! And It's not like we are given a customized list of options when we are born into the world. Being thrust into the world not by our own choice, one would think we'd be given all the tools we need, placed in the right environment, and shown all the love we need to thrive. Here's the kick: We Are! It just doesn't come in the package that we expect, Nor does it come easy. Immediately from birth life is a shocker. You don't know whats going on and have the incessant need to scream at the top of your lungs... Not much has changed from then to Now, huh?

The circumstances we face in Life, make life a struggle and shake up our whole world, especially when the foundation was never settled to begin with. There's an innate natural human inclination to reach out for something, anything substantial to stabilize us and give us support. We find anything we can hold on to, to keep us stable. For many Americans this need breeds Addiction. 16 percent of the U.S. population is dependent on alcohol, nicotine, or other drugs.* A new report shows that Substance Abuse beat out obesity, and is the Number One Health Problem in America.

However, not all addiction is toxic or brings negative results. We also hold dependencies on things with more spiritual undertones like sex, and food, addictions stemming from the need to consume and fulfill, to feel whole. No matter the substance, the purpose is still the same: To fill, To meet the inadequacies and emptiness we feel and fill the never ending pit inside of our souls. There is a temporary moment of pleasure in consuming, so we continue in massive amounts in hopes to make the moment stick. But the desired effect is never achieved, In fact it only makes things worse. The cycle of addiction ruins lives and only makes living a greater struggle.

The problem not only attacks the finances and quality of our personal lives. It has a national effect: Addiction is also America's number one health care and health cost problem. Approximately 30 percent of our federal and state health care spending is attributable to it. Across all government spending, the total financial cost is nearly $500 billion annually.* Adequately, "What we consume, Consumes Us". However the nature of Addiction is not entirely bad. Given all the studies, There is one addiction that has never produced any negative results, The side effects are more intrinsic than terminal, and it is the only form of consuming known increase physical production. It is perhaps the most controversial one of all: It Is... A dependence of Faith and an addiction of Glory. There is an intoxicating Inspiration in the Glory of The Earth, and a natural Stimulant that we are born with inside our souls. This stimulant is more medicinal than all others, Its causes us to produce more and its the same one we use to Overcome.

However much it has been scrutinized, the facts of this addiction are given on more than a partial or biased account, It has affected Millions. Being Under The Influence of it gives unparalleled weight to the fact that Faith Is A Substance* Overall, having it produces the most favorable outcomes. When we have Faith and our relationship with God becomes our sole dependency, it heals all of our pain and indeed takes us to another level of life: The Life we were meant to live. As a matter of fact to be addicted to the substance of faith, It is not called addiction... Its' Called Revival! It's definitely something that the human spirit needs to thrive. Think about it, and The next time you are feeling low don't pick up the bottle, pick up the Bible. In it lies the All the answers to our woes and our capacity to do. Remember, Faith is A Drug! Have You Had Some?

The JFK Limos: Marking the 50th Anniversary of John F Kennedy's Assassination

ByLewis R Humphries

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination, where the nature of American politics took such a sudden and ultimately tragic change in course. A stark memento of that occasion emerged in the news last week, as it was revealed that 2 limousines from the Kennedy White House motor pool are set for sale at some point during 2013. Owned by Connecticut resident John Reznikoff, the vehicles have recently being prepared for auction and showcased at the Classic Car Gallery to help drive interest and commemorate that seismic day in the fall of 1963.

The Vehicles and Their Place in History

The first vehicle in question is the 4 door 1963 Lincoln Continental limousine, which both John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy used for a parade in Forth Worth, Texas the day before the presidents tragic assassination. This classic black model is as striking today as it was back then, and has benefited from extremely effective level of maintenance and personal attention to ensure that it runs as smoothly today as it did 4 decades ago. The 2nd is the less vaunted 1960 Lincoln Mark V Limousine, which provides a stark contrast to its partner with crisp white paintwork, a simplified design and an underrated visual aesthetic.

Both cars were themselves purchased in auction by John Reznikoff, who procured them from the eclectic and unusual Museum of American Tragedy. Given that they remain in almost mint condition to this day, aside from minimal wear to the interiors of each vehicle, their grandeur presents a fitting visual representation of the era and a physical memento of an incredibly emotive and tragic day. As they are currently being displayed in full public view before their proposed sale at auction, their presence is providing an interesting foot note ahead of the 50th anniversary of the assassination next year.

Delivering a Fitting Tribute for the 50th Anniversary

Despite owning the iconic JFK limo and a second vehicle from the Kennedy White House motor pool for more than a decade, John Reznikoff's decision to sell them will play a significant role in providing a fitting tribute for next years 50th anniversary commemoration. By preparing them for sale in conjunction with technical staff at the Classic Car Gallery, he is creating media interest at an ideal time and drawing a sharp focus towards one of the most momentous days in American history.

The JFK limo remains one of the most iconic vehicles in modern history, and its sale will generate worldwide interest in one of America's most infamous events.

Serving Your Neighborhood and Community Has a Big Impact for All

ByDavid Slaughter

Expert Author David Slaughter

Carrying out neighborhood service programs have come to a point where young people are formally encouraged to take part in volunteer work for their neighborhood. Some high schools, for example, have one prerequisite for graduation which is for students to complete a specific several hours in locality service.

An expected outcome of this program is that students are, in truth, enjoying this honor to serve others. As these youngsters experiment with their interests in the various jobs available, they often get to know themselves better and feel a sense of success. And while doing so, they are able to serve others.

A high character feeling that continues through the college years and even on their careers. Many community organizations find loyal supporters among younger professionals from different locales who readily extend voluntary help when needed.

Many of these teams have provided priceless service to the community in different ways for a long time now. Instances of their neighborhood service include medical assignments, participation in environmental actions, volunteer work related to education, and many others.

Adolescent Community Service

Young adults in any neighborhood show a very key role in neighborhood improvement. If a nation has young people willing to participate in social deeds, whether in form of a team or independently, it is a good sign of community development. Youth can work in different organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, YMCA units and other student organization as well as youth forums.

School, College and college Communities

Nearly every educational institute has an objective to develop a great community with the help of young college students having a clear purpose. The intention of such communities is to help and guide other students of a college or university in different aspects of their lives as well as in their personal grooming.

Community services are a gigantic area that caters to many other aspects. Examples of the community services are:
Beautifying parks, streets, and public visiting placesSocial services (charitable organization works)Recovery, aid operations, disaster and risk managementServing in old age houses, nursing homes, hospitalsAssisting the law enforcement companies and other aid works in the areas where they may need help.Offering education to the children at their homes free of charge and much more.

Many of these groups have been actively engaged in service projects that have benefited communities in all places. With an aggressive goal of making a distinction in people's lives, these volunteers exert selflessness to be able to add to the quality of life despite their own worries and time restraints.

The public has an opportunity, to which most people contribute. The lack of energy for offering help has our communities suffering as a result. There are plenty of methods to help people, but many do not offer opportunities to stand up and do so.

Guiding children while they are young to do neighborhood service is an effective strategy when preparing them for later in life. Schools are at the forefront of this movement to instill in students a sense of pride when helping others.

Going forward, people will hopefully carry on giving back to the neighborhood. Although, other things in their personal lives can get in the way of this and not allow them to dedicate the time they once had to volunteering.

The answer is that everyone can constantly spare a small amount of time each month to set aside for neighborhood service. It should be like a typical month-to-month routine for them to take part in some type of program that helps other people.

Your gift and benefit received from volunteering is just as much as the person you're helping gains from you. Advisers or tutors tend to develop a close relationship with their college students and enjoy working together with them.

Receiving gratitude and a smile from these people who you help is one of the best gifts you can have in return. You certainly have made a distinction in someone's life just from that simple gesture.

Being the example by volunteering for people you know can be just as beneficial to culture. The more people you are serving, the more likely they will be to join the cause and participate in similar packages as you.

Almost all communities are looking for superior ways to get people to help out and volunteer for different motives. When people begin to make more of an exertion, the world will be a better place.

These teams have been around for some time and have done an active job of helping communities across the nation. The folks that volunteer usually have their own full-time careers, but manage to donate a few hours out of the week to help make the world a far better place - these are true heroes.

Obviously, if you're involved in lending a helping hand it's constantly appreciated and you should go forward and look into becoming a volunteer or look for community service hours whenever you possibly could make the time. Whenever you can afford to give, it will certainly go a long way and make a big difference.

Wouldn't it be a better world if everyone took just a little time to help out some one else in need. Even if it were only for a minute or at the minimum offering a smile. If you would like to understand more about community service hours and how to volunteer please visit our site.
